I love driving by the lake in the mornings, and just see the still of the water, it just so crisp, clean, fresh, new, like you could just glide across it, and so tempting to do. I just want to be there and stay in that moment forever, it's like all is right in the world, it is so peaceful.
Oh, how I wish my mind would stay there forever! But unfortunately it doesn't, my head will start to get busy with everything that 'needs' to be accomplished for that day, week, month, and maybe even the rest of the year. Some things I am looking forward to and maybe some things I am not looking so much forward to.
And then it begins, I start to feel self-doubt, and hear the voices of 'you are a failure', 'you can't do that', 'you are too stupid and an idiot, you fat and ugly, why would anyone want to listen to you?' Just like everyone else goes through. I can hear these all day long at every turn I take during my day, all day, every day, it won’t stop! If I allow it, it will send me straight to depression, and I can sit there for a long time, and then the self-pity, and start the blame and justification game. Sounds a lot like this, 'well, If I just had more support from friends and family, and if that person wouldn't been such a jerk and doubted me, I would be so much further in my education, my life.....' Any of this sound familiar? It may not be the same exact thing but I know we all struggle with those doubts that get in our heads.
In a quiet time that I took with the Lord here are some things I brought before Him, I just got down right honest and vulnerable with Him, the moment He is always waiting for, so patiently. I used three questions my pastor had suggested to use for your quiet time with the Lord.
Lord, What is it in my life right now that I need to let go?
~ I am not adequate.
~ I have fear of continually failing and never succeed in anything.
~ I feel alone and overwhelmed.
~ Let go of the, I can’t(s) or the don't(s)
~ Don't focus on the bad.
Lord, What is not in my life that I need right now?
~ Quiet time- Just be still
~ Immersing myself in The Word
~ Find the ‘I cans’ and ‘the does’
~ Focus on the good and the truth.- Grace, hope, Holy Spirit, Fruit of the Spirit, the power of God, the strength of God, the love of God, the peace of God, the comfort of God, the refuge in God, the grace in God, the hope in God, the rest in God.
Verses:
Psalm 46:10, Galatians 5:22, 1 John 4:4, Romans 8, Philippians 4:8
Lord, What is your will for my life right now?
Here is His answer to me-
~ 'Know that you are enough and just say, 'Here am I Lord', be willing to just be there and accept My call, not to impress yourself, man or even Me, but to be humbled for the call and to be willing to go and do. I want who you are and where you are right now, not 10 years or so for now, you are perfectly where I want you and need you to be. Will you meet Me, will you allow Me completely in so I can shine? I am ready, are you ready? Are you ready to trust Me, are you ready to have faith in Me, are you ready to allow the Holy Spirit work in you? Are you ready just to fall into My arms and have rest in Me? My burden is light.
Verses:
1 John 4:12b, Galatians 2, Matthew 11:25-30
Matthew 11-
25 At that time Jesus answered and said , I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes. 26 Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight. 27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him. 28 Come unto me, all ye that labourand are heavy laden , and I will give you rest . 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for Iam meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Matthew 11- ESV
Come to Me, and I Will Give You Rest 25 At that time Jesus declared, "I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children; 26 yes, Father, for such was your gracious will. 27 All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him. 28 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."
I have been trying to work on something that will cover this a little bit but I wanted to go ahead and share this. I know you have not heard from me lately and I appologize and I hope I can get some things going and my next blog I do hope will be the one that will explain a bit about what has been going on. But until then I hope this will give you some joy, hope, and some peace in your life, that this will be refreshing to you. I know I need this right now!dear sweet mom who feels like she is failing. by Rachel Marie Martin on Finding Joy blogAugust 28, 2012http://rachelmariemartin.blogspot.ca/2012/08/dear-sweet-mom-who-feels-like-she-is.html?m=1
I saw this on Facebook that someone posted, I am sure it is a popular post, but I so love this, I remember a TV series had something similar to this scenario and it was pretty funny but right on. I have been in both places, a working mom and a stay at home mom and now I'm a stay at home working mom, it is all difficult to keep up but in any case we are doing it for the right reasons for our family, some of us have to work, some of us take deep sacrifices to stay home, but it is all worth it in the end. I posted the article from Yahoo Shine writtin by Amy Keyishian for CafeMom's blog, The Stir 'This is what a stay-at-home mom does all day', look for it below. But first here is the Face book post- A man came home from work and found his 3 children outside, still in their pyjamas, playing in the mud, with empty food boxes and wrappers strewn around garden, The door of his wife's car was open, as was the front door to the house and no sign of the dog, walking in the door, he found ...an even bigger mess. A lamp had been knocked over, the throw rug was against one wall, In the front room the TV was on loudly with the cartoon channel, the family room was strewn with toys and various items of clothing. In the kitchen, dishes filled the sink, breakfast food was spilled on the counter, the fridge door was open wide, dog food was spilled on the floor, a broken glass lay under the table, and a small pile of sand was spread by the back door. He quickly headed up the stairs, stepping over toys and more piles of clothes, looking for his wife. He was worried she might be ill, or that something serious had happened. He was met with a small trickle of water as it made its way out the bathroom door. As he peered inside he found wet towels, scummy soap and more toys strewn over the floor. Miles of toilet paper lay in a heap and toothpaste had been smeared over the mirror and walls. As he rushed to the bedroom, he found his wife still curled up in the bed in her pyjamas, reading a novel... She looked up at him, smiled and asked how his day went. He looked at her bewildered and asked, 'What happened here today?' She again smiled and answered, 'You know every day when you come home from work and you ask me what in the world do I do all day?.. ''Yes," was his incredulous reply.. She answered,. 'Well, today I didn't do it. :) ynx Miriam McLean
I don't know about you but I love to learn about what women accomplished and are now accomplishing , I love finding fun and maybe unknown facts about women in history and the present. Women just inspire me! Inspire me to trudge on and be successful in living life and really going for what you believe and want to accomplish in life. Here is a link that has a bit of history on some famous and maybe not so famous women. Happy reading and learning!http://womenshistorymonth.gov/
I know you have not heard from me lately and I am so sorry! Life has just gotten busy and messy!!First my husbands tire on his car is giving us real fits, he has tried to fix it and even taken it to a tire shop to get it fixed and it turns out that the wheel is rusted so they sanded it down and got the tire back on it and aired it up they said it wasn't a permanent fix but could last for about three months or so, well next day flat as road kill, LOL! This is the short story of it, it has been giving us fits for quite a while now and it has been hard to find a 2003 KIA Spectra wheel to replace w/o going to the dealer and paying a unbelievable amount of money just for a wheel. Another thing that has happened is that our TennCare has stopped for Hope our disabled child, we weren't expecting or wanting to be dependent on it forever, but just when we see that our financial feet is starting to get under us this is a big blow!!! Along with that blow we found out that our insurance will not cover for Hope's feeding, her tubes, feeding bags, food, etc anything that goes with tube feeding. We also found out that our 19 year old is no longer insured with our health insurance. So needless to say that we have been scrambling for a wheel, to find insurance that will cover all of our needs, plus went looking for a car for our 19 year old. (Which we ended up going to Rusty Wallace Honda and found a great deal on a car, the used car manger was awesome and the salesman that showed us the cars and ultimately sold us one was awesome too, just totally good guys, those of you who live in or near Knoxville and looking for a car highly recommend this place!) Oh and BTW we purchased online the Consumer Reports one month membership, it was a great and helpful tool, but when we tried to use it on our smart phones, we had to pay an additional $5, but when we tried to get used car info on that while we were out searching they did not have used car info on the 'app', so so not worth getting the app if you are looking for used cars, it was very disappointing and discouraging! In all of this though I must say we can surely see how God has blessed us and keeps on blessing us and taking care of us, he is so faithful even in the troubles and messiness of life, He is there with us and guiding us. It is so amazing to have an awesome God on your side and to remember as you go through trials to know He is bigger than all of that! One of my favorite verses- Romans 3:35-3935 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written , For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. 37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. 38 For I am persuaded , that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present , nor things to come , 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. So we will conquer the day and days to come through our Lord Jesus Christ onward we go!I promise I have ton of things in my head and saved so as soon as I have a moment to focus and get things out you will be hearing from me and hope you will be blessed with what I have coming. Cheers!
A heart wrenching post- PEOPLE WE NEED TO WAKE UP!!!!Americans go to so much lengths to save animals and get the 'owners' arrested and charged with felonies but we don't care what is happening with humane life, what is wrong with this picture? !!!! I received this article in my email this morning and had to share, this is scary and alarming stuff hear and it is just so surprising how many stories I have heard lately that the FDA is not really protecting us it's like they are really for the companies so the companies can make money, it just makes you wonder who is getting paid off here at the FDA?Children's medicines coated with brain-damaging aluminumby S. D. Wells
(NaturalNews) Aluminum Lake food coloring, used to heavily coat liquid medicines for children, contains dangerous amounts of aluminum and harmful synthetic petrochemicals. These "petrochemicals" are carcinogens containing petroleum, antifreeze and ammonia, which cause a long list of adverse reactions. Aluminum poisoning can lead to short and long term central nervous system (CNS) damage, such as memory impairments, autism, epilepsy, mental retardation, and dementia.
Research shows that just 4ppm of aluminum can cause the blood to coagulate. This is what causes Alzheimer's Disease and has been documented toinhibit learning. Aluminum consumption can also be associated with the development of bone disorders, including stress fractures.
Also known as tartrazine, FD&C Yellow Aluminum Lake is a chemical concoction derived from coal tar. It is known to be a reproductive toxin. All artificial colors contain Aluminum Lake, so when your child gets to pick between red, blue or green medicine, they're really choosing which poison they get to consume. Several chemically enhanced food colorings contain ammonia and therefore produce compounds proven to cause various cancers in animal studies, according to CSPI, the Center for Science in the Public Interest. (http://www.cspinet.org/reports/chemcuisine.htm)
Most widely used food colors and their damaging actions:
• Blue #1: Research shows it causes kidney tumors in mice.
• Blue #2: Research shows even higher incidence of tumors, specifically gliomas in male rates (a type of tumor that starts in the brain or spine).
• Red #2: Toxic to rodents, even at modest levels, and causes tumors of the bladder.
• Red #3: FDA recognized it in 1990 as a cause of thyroid cancer in animals. It was banned in cosmetics, but still allowed in food and medicine.
• Red #40: Most popular dye of all. Debilitates the immune-system in mice. Allergic reactions common.
• Green #3: Causes bladder and testes tumors.
• Yellow #5: Affects behavior and induces severe hypersensitivity reactions.
• Yellow #6: Causes adrenal tumors in animals.
The following is taken directly from FDA's Regulatory Process and Historical Perspectives: "Color additives are important components of many products, making them attractive, appealing, appetizing, and informative. Added color serves as a kind of code that allows us to identify products on sight, like candy flavors and medicine dosages." Really?! Decoding medicine dosages on sight?
There has been a 55% increase in U.S. toxic food dyes just since the year 2000. There are over 15 million pounds of dyes put in foods, drinks, candy and medicine every year, and the FDA does nothing to protect consumers from the colorful barrage of poison. (http://www.vaughns-1-pagers.com/food/artificial-food-colors.htm)
Studies reveal that children have consumed as much as three pounds of dye by the age of twelveHere are some popular product and "brand" names you may mistake as exempt products: RD&C dyes and colors in baked goods, beverages, candy, cereal, drugs, pet food, personal care products, cosmetics, cough syrups, NyQuil,Tylenol, Robitussin,Jello, gelatins, Cheetos, Skittles, Fruity Pebbles, Marachino cherries, sausage, Mountain Dew, Doritos, chewing gum, and powdered drink mixes.
American companies doing business in Europe currently have to change their products to natural colorings to meet European Union strict regulations. The FDA's rationale is that because artificial food colorings are used mainly in foods and medicines of low or no nutritional value, that the American public should "already be aware" of health implications, so it doesn't matter if other toxins are added.
What are your options as opposed to poisonous medicines? Consult a naturopath (ND) for advice on ingredients in food and medicine.

'I've been cheating on you and I want a divorce, oh and by the way get out. I'm just not happy.'These are close to the words a female relative of mine just heard during the Christmas holidays. Can you imagine the shock and hurt she felt, what do you do for a close friend or family member that just heard that? One of her worst nightmares just happened and how can you reach out to her? We live about 11 hours away so I can't just run over there and be able to just be there for her, and she doesn't have much access if any to the internet as well. It was so hard not knowing how she was doing and not knowing what to do. I couldn't get a hold of her right away by phone so I just left a voicemail for her saying I love her, I'm there for her, and I support her, and praying for her and the situation. I also sent a verse that was typed up on a card with a sleeve and put a Christmas picture of my daughter Hope in there and put a message from Hope that she is beautiful, strong, and worthy, and God is there and her strength, and hope she finds peace, hope and rest in Him. Before that arrived at her house she did call me back and seemed to be doing well in spite all that is going on in her life right now, of course when it rains it pours and this is not the only thing that has happened in her life in the past year but this really put the cherry on top of the icing to end the year with. As we talked on the phone together I mentioned how our ministry Lakeside Family ultimately wanted to help women, children, and their families with having a place to stay so they will have time and support to get education and or training, and get emotionally, spiritually sound to be able to support them and their families. This ministry is still barely in the baby steps and we are finding our way in God's leading of where to begin and go. But she seemed so excited about it and mentioned the first thing a women would need is a day out going to the spa or somewhere where you could get your hair done, facial, manicure, and a pedicure. It just made me wish that I was close enough that I could go do that with her and it just be a day for her, to be able to have a good time and just forget about things for a while. My husband has suggested just to continue to send her cards and letters and different little things like that for awhile. A friend and my business/ministry partner gave me this to prayer to pray for her and her family. Ephesians 1:16-23 16 I have not stopped giving thanks for ________, remembering _______ in my prayers. 17 I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give ________ the Spiritf of wisdom and revelation, so that _______ may know Him better. 18 I pray also that the eyes of _______ heart may be enlightened in order that ___________may know the hope to which He has called ___________, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints, 19 and His incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of His mighty strength, 20 which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, 21 far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. 22 And God placed all things under His feet and appointed Him to be head over everything for the church, 23 which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills everything in every way. And therefore, Lord, because of Your resurrection and victory over the enemy, and because You then gave that power to us who believe, we take authority over the principalities and powers of the air that is holding ____________ captive. _______ and I stand together as a hedge around ______________. We are a strong fortress of protection against the wiles of the enemy. Take your hands off ______________ right now – loose _________________ to receive direction from the Holy Spirit. I speak to _______________ mind right now. I cover _______________ with the blood of Jesus to be protected. To be clear and free from evil influences. To be able to see clearly the path _____________ is on. Lord I ask you to reveal the hearts of men which is the evil one's influences, and make away of escape for ____________________. Lord I ask that you give ________ super natural wisdom and understanding regarding ___________ and make a way for her to witness to __________________. To shed light on the situation and speak boldly without compromise and even now you are preparing ______________ mind, soul and spirit man to receive the truth so _______________ can be set free. Thank you Jesus that your Word does not return to You void. Thank you Jesus for delivering ________________________. In Jesus Name – Amen.I also found this website blog 'Helping a friend through a divorce.' By Laura Petherbridge http://www.cbn.com/family/marriage/helping-friend-through-divorce-petherbridge.aspx Unfortunately I have had too many friends and family that has gone through this and sometimes they are on the other side doing the hurting, and I just can't understand the selfishness of it all, but it definitely is a spiritual battle, and we always need to keep in mind if we find our self in temptation that God is stronger and He can over come the evil. This verse could help on whatever side you find yourself. Romans 8:33-39 33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth . 34 Who is he that condemneth ? It is Christ that died , yea rather , that is risen again , who is even at the righthand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written , For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. 37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. 38 For I am persuaded , that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present , nor things to come , 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. If you have been through this yourself or have had a close friend or family member go through this please leave a comment and let us know how you helped or wished what kind of support you got or would of liked, please if you are going to mention a friend or family member that has gone through this please do not use their name, please keep their privacy in mind. (I will not approve the comment if you named someone so it will not be posted) Thank you for understanding and respecting your friends and family.
I saw this posted on facebook this morning and just had to read it. After reading it myelf I shared the post on facebook. I was just so impressed with Christine Rousselle's writing and her perspective on this issue. So I had to share on my blog as well. Christine's blog is about the raw truth on welfare as she worked at Walmart and witnessed the ugly truth of what was really going on. Now don't get me wrong here, I truly believe in helping the needy but at the same time our country has allowed people to rely on welfare and have no motivation to better themselves and get to a place where they can help other people in need also and this kind of living is being handed down generation to generation and it has gotten to where the children are growing up thinking this is how it is, this is how you survive, they have no clue of what real work ethic is like and how to really provide for themselves. It seems there are very few far and between that actually will step up and do that. I hope you will be impressed with her blog as I was. This right here is part of our cause and Lakeside Family Ministries is to somehow help women and their families, with educational needs, physical needs, and spiritual needs to be able to come to a realization that all of that is their responsibility and they can do something about it, they do not have to sit back and wait and/or rely on anyone or anything to get where they need to be spiritually, physically, and emotionally, and how to really rely and trust in God. We are just in the very beginning to get things together for this ministry so it is in no way a full force ministry yet but I hope you will join us in prayer as we follow God and his leading of how he wants His ministry to serve families in any situation they find their selves in. My Time at Walmart: Why We Need Serious Welfare ReformDecember 13, 2011 By crousselle http://thecollegeconservative.com/2011/12/13/my-time-at-walmart-why-we-need-serious-welfare-reform/ Please leave your opinions and comments here too, I would love to hear what your thinking and beliefs are. God Bless.
This is a great article/blog from Chuck Norris that explains very well about what is going on with the apple juice situation. It is a scary thought too that most of our produce comes from other countries that do not have our regulations, but the FDA allows this to keep on happening and it's years later that they will even notify us about it and the problems that we are now facing. This shows us why we need go organic or do our own juicing and definitely by local!Chuck Norris: Feds Allow Arsenic in Apple Juice?Monday, December 05, 2011 10:01 AMhttp://www.afa.net/Blogs/BlogPost.aspx?id=2147514422&fb_comment_id=fbc_10150503992535676_21852153_10150536581805676#f326cc6064 After reading what you just read, what are your thoughts?
